Twenty years of acoustic joy…
Twenty years. Blimey. That’s a lot of music, fun, wine, music, nibbles, more music, good times, chairs stacked and even more music.
Founded by three local musicians in April 2003, Goring Unplugged is a much-loved, totally acoustic music night in the heart of South Oxfordshire. It’s every two months on a Friday evening, plus extra (plugged) nights in local pubs during the summer.
Goring Unplugged is a fun musical celebration for local musicians young and old. Everyone brings their own drinks and food (and the nice ones help us clear up afterwards.)
Many successful acts started out at Goring Unplugged nights, such as Lightyears (‘The UK’s best funk pop band’). And we’re a regular haunt of popular local acts like Greg Mayston’s Folk, Blues and Americana.
We love to encourage local talent (young and old!) to play.
We enthusiastically embrace musical styles – most nights you’ll hear a mix of folk, jazz, blues, indie, sometimes a capella or experimental music. If it’s unplugged and totally acoustic, anything goes.
